What is Ray Bradbury about?

Fahrenheit 451 is a dystopian novel published in 1953 about a future where books are outlawed and burned by "firemen". The main character, Montag, is a fireman who becomes disillusioned with censoring works and destroying knowledge, and eventually joins a resistance group committed to preserving literature. The novel is interpreted as a commentary on book burning suppressing dissent and how mass media reduces interest in reading. It won several awards including the American Academy of Arts and Letters Award
