What is Guest editorial: Special issue on Databases and Software Engineering about?
This special issue aims at presenting most recent, original research in Databases and Software Engineering. All submitted papers have been carefully reviewed following INS's peer review process. This has resulted in ten selected papers forming this special issue. Six up-to-date and challenging subareas of Databases and Software Engineering constitute the main focus of this special issue, namely: Query Processing (three papers), Data Mining (two papers), Information Retrieval (one paper), Aspect-oriented Programming (two papers), Requirements Elaboration and Software Cost Estimation (one paper), and Software Architecture (one paper). The performance of a database management system depends fundamentally on the access methods and query processing techniques available to the system. Nowadays, database systems are increasingly being employed to support new applications involving multi-dimensional data and the development and implementation of efficient access methods are crucial in this new scenario.
