## Acute liver failure due to drug-induced liver injury: case report A 47-year-old man developed acute liver failure due to drug-induced liver injury following treatment with rosuvastatin for high cholesterol. The man, who had high cholesterol, started receiving rosuvastatin 5mg daily [route not stated]. A month later, laboratory findings revealed ALT 2245, AST 1282, ALP 295, total bilirubin 7.1 and direct bilirubin 5.5 [units not stated]. He was hospitalised. The man's rosuvastatin was discontinued. Simultaneously, unspecified supportive care was started. However, liver function tests continued to increase. Therefore, liver biopsy was done. Further, he was transferred to a tertiary care hospital. Laboratory findings upon arrival showed ALT 2253, AST 1400, total bilirubin 9.9, ALP 277 and INR 1.1 [units not stated].
