What is Peter David McCall about?

enjoyed a happy childhood in Pirbright, Surrey, where his father was a well regarded singlehanded general practitioner. He was deeply influenced by his father's example and as a young man would help him in the practice, accompanying and sometimes driving him on visits. These experiences determined Peter early in his career to be a general practitioner. He was educated at Charterhouse School (and was an enthusiastic Old Carthusian) and trained at the Westminster Hospital Medical School. He completed pre-registration training and casualty officer posts at St Richard's Hospital, Chichester. It was here that he met Deborah, who was working as a nurse. They married in 1971. He joined the group practice at Tudor House in Wokingham, Berkshire, in 1972 and became partner in the practice in 1975. His career spanned what might be considered a golden age of general practice and Peter enjoyed the opportunities it afforded to the full. His concern was always for his patients and he recognised the privilege and opportunities for the better understanding of their problems that being doctor to multi-generational families allowed.
