About this document
Types and Applications of Heat Exchangers by Ishan Mahto is a document available to read on EtoBox.
A heat exchanger is a device that transfers heat between two or more fluids. There are several types including parallel-flow, counter-flow, cross-flow, double pipe, and shell and tube. Counter-flow design is most efficient as fluids enter from opposite ends. Heat exchangers are widely used in applications like heating, cooling, power plants and more. Common types are double pipe which is inexpensive but less efficient, and shell and tube which is used for high pressure applications and to cool engine oils.
