This study investigates the use of attitude markers in the writings of EFL learners at the University of Basra, analyzing 177 written texts through pretests and posttests. Results indicate that while attitude markers were used in both tests, significant improvements were noted in the posttest, suggesting that students can enhance their writing performance with proper instruction. The study emphasizes the importance of teaching attitude markers in writing courses to improve communication effectiveness.
