What is Bearded Dragon Gastrointestinal Radiography about?

This study establishes the radiographic anatomy and barium sulfate contrast transit times of the gastrointestinal tract in bearded dragons (Pogona vitticeps) using a non-invasive technique. Seven bearded dragons were administered barium, and their gastrointestinal transit times were measured, revealing median gastric emptying at 10 hours and varying times for other digestive segments. The findings suggest that this technique is safe and applicable for clinical use in other lizard species.
