Eight experts were asked whether the automatic mode function (AMF) fired on the Deepwater Horizon rig on April 20, 2010. One expert answered yes, citing depleted batteries as the basis for their opinion. Six experts answered no, with reasons including depleted batteries, miswired solenoid, and testing showing the AMF did not fire. One expert took no position, and one did not provide an opinion on behalf of their client.
