Diapsids were small to gigantic tetrapods that lived from the late Paleozoic to modern times globally. They displayed extremely variable anatomies, habitats, and behaviors, ranging from marine to terrestrial to aerial lifestyles and from herbivorous to predatory. Thalattosaurs were a group of diapsids that lived in shallow marine waters from the Middle to Late Triassic, using modified limbs for paddling.
