This conference paper evaluates the seismic performance of fixed steel jacket offshore platforms using various bracing configurations and retrofit methods. It finds that while conventional methods improve strength, they do not significantly enhance ductility, unlike buckling-restrained braces (BRB) which greatly improve ductility and distribute plastic hinges more uniformly.
