This document summarizes research on measuring the thermophysical properties of liquid iron and nickel using an exploding wire technique. Wire samples of iron and nickel were pulse heated to temperatures up to 4000K using a fast discharge circuit, allowing heating rates of around 109 K/s. Electric resistivity and enthalpy were derived from voltage and current measurements during heating. Temperature was determined using a fast pyrometer.
