The Holy Prophet (PBUH) migrated from Mecca to Medina after the Quraish plotted to assassinate him. He left for Medina with Abu Bakr, avoiding the assassins by having Ali sleep in his bed and throwing dust in the eyes of his pursuers. They took shelter in a cave, where they stayed for three days before continuing safely to Medina. This marked the beginning of an important era where the first Muslim community was established in Medina under the leadership of the Prophet.
