What is 183 A comparative review of allogeneic stem cell transplantation for MDS/secondary AML versus de novo AML in Western Scotland about?
## Aims: To present the results of an interim safety analysis. Methods: Between August 2008 and August 2009, 74 MDS patients (Brazil, n = 30; Malaysia, n = 8; Korea, n = 24; Thailand, n = 12) were enrolled in an expanded access program (EAP) for treatment with decitabine in 19 centers. Patients could receive decitabine in either the 3-day (15 mg/m 2 tid, d1-3Q6W) or 5-day (20 mg/m 2 qd, d1-5Q4W) schedule. This analysis evaluated patients during the first four cycles. Region groups were compared using the t-test for age and Mann-Whitney test for time since diagnosis. The chi-square test was used in the association analysis. Results: Seventy two (97%) patients had MDS de novo. All patients had baseline bone marrow blast counts between 0 and 18%. Regarding IPSS, 42 patients (57%) were Int-1, 25 (34%) Int-2 and 7 (9%) high risk. The median age was 62 years (range: 25-79), 61% were men and most had a good Performance Status (ECOG 0+1: 93%). At baseline, myelosuppression was frequently seen: 92% anemia, 54% neutropenia and 69% thrombocytopenia. Regarding cytogenetics, 56% had a good prognosis karyotype. Fifty patients (68%) were on transfusion support. All the subjects received decitabin
