Can I read Solvent Effect on the Hammett Reaction Constant for the Electroreduction of Substituted Benzophenones on EtoBox?
Solvent Effect on the Hammett Reaction Constant for the Electroreduction of Substituted Benzophenones by Jan S. Jaworski; Marcin Malik; Marek K. Kalinowski is a Chemistry article available to read on EtoBox.
What is Solvent Effect on the Hammett Reaction Constant for the Electroreduction of Substituted Benzophenones about?
## Abstract Solvent effects on the Hammett ρ value for the cathodic reduction of substituted benzophenones were determined. The electrochemistry of a series of 11 compounds was studied in acetonitrile, acetone, dimethyl sulphoxide, propylene carbonate, __N__,__N__‐dimethylformamide, __N__,__N__‐dimethylacetamide, __N__,__N__‐diethylformamide and hexamethylphosphoric triamide. The ρ values for the reversible one‐electron transfer are described by the Lewis acid‐base model ρ = − 0.006__AN__ + 0.003__DN__ + 0.391, where __AN__ = solvent acceptor number and __DN__ = solvent donor number.
