Tribaloy is a new class of wear- and corrosion-resistant alloys developed by DuPont. It consists of a hard intermetallic Laves phase dispersed in a softer matrix. The Laves phase gives Tribaloy a hardness comparable to tool steel and tungsten carbide composites.
