FCSB is a professional football club based in Bucharest, Romania. Founded in 1947 as the sports club of the Romanian Army, it has always played in the top division of Romanian football. In 1998, the club was privatized and sold to shareholders, then acquired by a single owner in 2003. However, the Army sued the club in 2011 over ownership of the Steaua brand and history, resulting in ongoing legal disputes and the club changing its name to FCSB in 2017.
