Morrie Schwartz was a sociology professor at Brandeis University where Mitch Albom was his student in the 1970s. They formed a close bond, but lost touch after Mitch graduated. Years later, Mitch saw Morrie being interviewed on TV about living with ALS. He visited Morrie and they began having weekly Tuesday meetings where Morrie shared life lessons as his health declined from ALS. Their discussions were later published in Mitch Albom
