Nicolaus Copernicus was a Renaissance mathematician and astronomer who formulated a model of the universe that placed the Sun rather than the Earth at its center. He was born in 1473 in Toruń, Poland and died in 1543 in Frombork, Poland where he was also buried. Copernicus was educated at the University of Padua from 1501-1503. Sir Isaac Newton was an influential English physicist and mathematician who is widely considered one of the most influential scientists of all time. He developed the laws of motion
