This document describes a study that implemented the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method and Lambert W function in a 1-D engine simulation model to optimize fuel injection in a Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) engine. The study coupled a crank angle-resolved 1-D engine simulation model with SIMULINK. It used a predictive combustion model with EOQ to optimize fuel quantity.
