Noncommunicable Diseases Overview by Anonymous VdGiRV3 is a document available to read on EtoBox.
Noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) such as cardiovascular diseases, cancer, respiratory diseases, and diabetes are the leading causes of death globally, responsible for 63% of deaths in 2008. Nearly 80% of NCD deaths occur in low- and middle-income countries. The main risk factors for NCDs are tobacco use, unhealthy diet, physical inactivity, and harmful use of alcohol. Effective interventions that reduce these shared risk factors could prevent a large portion of NCD deaths.
