M y experience at the cancer center would not have been the same without you. After meeting you, I now perceive and understand cancer in such a different sense. Cancer is not just a disease that affects your physical body; as you once shared with me, ''Cancer is an illness of the soul.'' Cancer does not forgive or forget any part of you, not physical, mental, or emotional. It will test your strength, your faith, your love, and much more. Many times, we sat in silence. We worried and felt desperate for the news to come; we celebrated good news and pulled through the bad news. We shared tears of joy, sadness, anger, and fear. We remembered old memories and planned to create new ones. With your journey, you have taught me to see life through a different lens. To appreciate the little moments, to live the life you want to live with whom you want to live it, and to enjoy every minute and live it to the fullest. You have grown from this.
