This book reflects our experiences teaching courses in environmental policy and management. One of our team members, O.P. Dwivedi, first taught a course at the University of Guelph on this subject in the fall of 1972, when few social scientists were involved. Over the years, first Patrick Kyba, and then Peter Stoett also offered this course and added their areas of expertise to it, while Rebecca Tiessen became closely associated with it in the late 19908. Thus, this book reflects not only our personal commitment to environmental protection, but also our experiences as public and governmental attitudes toward the environment changed since the early 19705.
