About this document
NASA Winglet Flutter Tests Explained by Infant Raj is a document available to read on EtoBox.
Winglet is a near-vertical extension of the wing tips that improves aircraft performance. The shape, size, and angles of the winglet are critical and unique to each aircraft application. Winglets work by converting some of the energy from wingtip vortices into forward thrust, improving efficiency. They also reduce the strength of wingtip vortices which improves safety. Winglets first emerged in the early 1900s and were pioneered by researchers like Whitcomb and Hoerner. They are now widely used on aircraft
