What is Apology for Class Absence Letter about?

Mohd Zaini wrote a letter to his lecturer, Madam Asmad bt Mohd Salleh, to explain his absences from her class for the past three weeks. [1] He provides three reasons for missing class: he had chronic gastritis and did not see a doctor, he had a family emergency and had to leave campus, and he overslept after finishing an assignment late at night and missing her morning class. [2] He apologizes profusely for his absences and promises to work hard to catch up on what he missed in future classes. [3]
