As of June 2023, the weighted average interest rate on new mortgage agreements in Ireland was 4.04%, up 20 basis points from May and 136 basis points year-on-year, exceeding the euro area average of 3.79% by 25 basis points. The total volume of new mortgage agreements decreased by 12% from the previous month to €763 million, while new consumer loans increased to €225 million with an interest rate of 8.19%. Additionally, interest rates on household deposits rose to 2.12%, with the euro area rate at 2.70%.
