What is VDOT for TB Treatment Adherence in Vietnam about?

This study evaluated the feasibility of using asynchronous video directly observed therapy (VDOT) to support treatment adherence among tuberculosis patients in Vietnam. 40 of 78 eligible patients agreed to use a smartphone app to record themselves taking treatment and upload videos for review. High rates of adherence were observed, with over 70% of patients taking all doses and a median of 88.4% of doses recorded. Participants found the VDOT interface acceptable despite some technical issues.
