What is Anxiety and Depression in Dyspepsia Patients about?

This study examined the frequency of depression, anxiety, and stress in 40 patients referred for endoscopy due to dyspeptic symptoms. 82.5% of patients showed signs of anxiety, 60% showed depression, and 67.5% showed stress. Anxiety was the most prominent negative emotional state. Of patients with inflammatory findings on endoscopy, anxiety was also most common. Evaluation of anxiety is suggested in dyspepsia management.
