This paper presents a techno-economic and environmental analysis of a biorefinery in Colombia that converts sugarcane bagasse into ethanol, poly-3-hydroxybutyrate (PHB), and energy. An optimization procedure was employed to identify the most effective process pathways, leading to the simulation of three scenarios using Aspen Plus software.
