Amar Gopal Bose is an American electrical engineer and entrepreneur who founded Bose Corporation. He was born in Philadelphia to an Indian father and American mother. Bose received his B.S. and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from MIT. After working as a professor at MIT researching acoustics, he founded Bose Corporation in 1964 to commercialize his invention of a stereo loudspeaker.
