What is Koch about?

Robert Koch published a paper in 1876 pointing to anthrax bacteria as the cause of disease, validating germ theory. His work established bacteria as disease agents. Louis Pasteur developed a method of weakening pathogens in 1880 to induce immunity without disease, establishing the concept of vaccination. In 1944, Oswald Avery, Colin MacLeod, and Maclyn McCarty showed that DNA is the transforming material in cells, demonstrating that DNA carries genetic information.
