What is Hotos21 s03 Carreira about?

The paper discusses the inefficiencies of current serverless computing platforms, which often execute unoptimized code during function invocations, leading to significant performance slowdowns. It introduces Ignite, a new serverless platform that leverages runtime orchestration to optimize code execution from the start, thereby reducing latency and costs. The authors provide evidence that such optimizations can lead to substantial performance improvements, with speedups of up to 72x for certain workloads.
