This study investigated the use of non-resorbable dPTFE membranes for socket preservation after tooth extraction, without graft material. 276 extraction sites in 276 patients were evaluated. Measurements and biopsies showed significant bone regeneration, with no influence from gender, smoking, age, or initial bone level. The use of dPTFE membranes predictably led to preservation of soft and hard tissues in extraction sites.
