The study identifies salivary metabolic signatures associated with primary Sjögren’s disease (pSjD) using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy on saliva samples from 30 pSjD patients and 30 non-Sjögren’s controls. Significant differences in metabolite levels were observed, with increases in glucose, glycerol, taurine, and lactate, and decreases in 5-aminopentanoate, acetate, butyrate, and propionate in pSjD subjects.
