This experiment aimed to determine the mass of an object (Mo) and the mass of a ruler (Mruler) by applying the second condition of rigid body equilibrium. Various masses were hung from different distances on a ruler balanced on a pivot. The results were plotted on a graph of mass vs. distance, and the slope gave Mo as 2.67g/cm.
