This research article presents a novel method for enhancing the stability of the solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) on graphite anodes by implanting a 4-vinylbenzoic acid (4-VBA) nanolayer. The 40 nm thick 4-VBA layer significantly improves the electrochemical performance and prolongs the cycle life of lithium-ion batteries utilizing a LiNi0.6Co0.2Mn0.2O2 cathode.
