What is Bavarian Forest Solar Farms Project about?
Sika solutions were used to bond thin film photovoltaic modules to a wooden tracking system in four solar farms located in the Bavarian Forest region of Germany. Sikasil SG-22 DS silicone sealant and Sika Spacer Tape HD were applied manually during installation to securely attach the rigid modules to the specially treated wood structure over the long term. The project combined four fields totaling over 3.3 megawatts to help reduce carbon emissions through use of the wood substructure and photovoltaic energy
