River sand, beach sand, beach sand with heavy minerals, red soil, and black soil were analyzed to identify the spectral parameters that best characterize their textures. For river sand, the slope at 1000-1400nm and peak reflectance in the visible region provided the strongest correlations. Beach sand was best characterized by its slope at 350-800nm and 1000-1400nm. Beach sand with heavy minerals showed high correlation between texture and radius at 1000-1400nm and 1900-2300nm, as well as depth at 1900nm.
