What is New Control Method for Shunt APF Harmonics about?

This paper presents a new control method for eliminating the 2nd harmonic at the DC link of a shunt Active Power Filter (APF) under unbalanced and nonlinear loads. The proposed method aims to reduce the stress on the DC-link capacitor and lower the 3rd harmonic distortion in line currents by controlling the fundamental negative sequence current. Simulation results demonstrate that the new control method outperforms conventional methods in terms of Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) and DC voltage ripple.
