Dr Zhivago tells the story of five young people living through the Russian Revolution. There is Yury Zhivago, a brilliant doctor, poet and writer; his wife Tonya; Lara, a nurse; her soldier husband Pasha; and their philosopher friend Misha. Yury falls for Lara while married to Tonya. Their love survives the turmoil of war and revolution but they are often separated.
