What is Spanish Colonial Missions in Bolivia about?

Spanish colonial missions arrived with the invasion of the American continent to evangelize the indigenous people and expand the influence of the church and the Spanish crown. The Jesuit and Franciscan orders established missions in regions of Bolivia such as Chiquitania and Moxos that promoted agriculture, craftsmanship, and music among the indigenous people. Although the missions had a lasting cultural influence, they also destroyed sacred sites and indigenous traditions.
