A simplified method is described for labeling m-lodobenzylguanidine (mlBG) with high-purity Na~231. Using stable stock solutions of mlBG and ammonium sulfate, a dry-block heater at 155C, and other readily available materials, the method easily produces [E23I]mlBG in high yield (>90%) and radiochemical purity (> 99%). Critical labeling parameters are discussed, including the effect of airflow, reagent mass, reaction time, temperature, and the presence of chloride ions.
