Immune-globulin/methylprednisolone No response: case report A 6-year-old girl (initials: GMSF) exhibited no response during treatment with methylprednisolone and immune globulin for immune thrombocytopenia and Evans syndrome [dosages and routes not stated]. The girl was followed-up since birth because of sickle cell anaemia with respiratory conditions and frequent pain crises. She had received hydroxyurea and was splenectomised. In June 2021, she was hospitalised with thrombocytopenia and pneumonia. She received pulse therapy with methylprednisolone, with no response. Hence, she started receiving immune globulin [immunoglobulin] with normalisation of platelet count. In January 2022, she was re-admitted with COVID-19 and pain crisis, with good clinical evolution. In April 2022, she was hospitalised again because of pneumonia, pain crisis and bronchospasm. She was treated with unspecified antibacterials [antibiotic] and analgesia. On day 6 of admission, she presented with angioedema of the face with decrease in saturation. Blood count revealed thrombocytopenia.
