This study evaluates the variability in postoperative rehabilitation protocols for microfracture surgery of femoral condyle and patellofemoral lesions across US orthopedic residency programs. Out of 155 programs, only 18 published protocols online, revealing significant differences in rehabilitation components and timing, particularly regarding weight-bearing and exercise progression. The authors suggest that standardizing these protocols could enhance patient care and outcomes.
