Baha-ud-Din Naqshband was a 14th century Sufi master and founder of the Naqshbandi order. He was born in 1389 in Bukhara and traced his lineage back to the prophet Muhammad. He received spiritual training from several masters and went on to develop the influential Naqshbandi teaching method and establish the order before his death in 1389.
