This experiment aimed to determine the concentration of calcium in an unknown sample using gravimetric analysis. Calcium was precipitated from the sample as calcium oxalate monohydrate by adding oxalate in a basic solution. The mass of the calcium oxalate precipitate was measured and used to calculate the mass and molarity of calcium in each sample. The molarities of calcium obtained from three trials were 0.1722 M, 0.2111 M, and 0.1812 M, respectively.
