This study aimed to determine if childhood separation anxiety disorder (SAD) increases the risk of developing mental illness during young adulthood between ages 19-30. Researchers used a sample of 816 participants from the Oregon Adolescent Depression Project and assessed them at ages 16, 19-20, 24-25, and 29-30 for SAD and other mental disorders.
