About this document
Termite Resistance via Antioxidant BHT by Juan Pablo is a document available to read on EtoBox.
The document studies the effect of treating wood with the artificial antioxidant butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) on termite resistance. Laboratory tests found that treating southern pine with 2% or 4% BHT greatly reduced mass loss and damage from subterranean termites, and caused 100% termite mortality. A field test also showed reduced damage from Formosan termites when wood was treated with 2-3% BHT.
