Electrochemical Preparation and Their Reactivities under Acidic Conditions. -In the presence of TmsCN/BF 3 •OEt 2 title acetals undergo substitution without ring opening. Under acidic aqueous conditions, however, the acetal (IIIc) undergoes ring opening, whereas the homologue (IIId) does it not.
