What is Celebrating Progress on Australia Day about?

The document argues that Australia Day should be a day of celebration rather than mourning. It discusses how Australia and Australians have made progress over the years, including through significant events like the National Apology in 2008, the 1967 referendum that gave Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people equal rights, and the 1965 Freedom Rides that drew attention to discrimination. While mistakes were made in the past, the document says we have improved relationships, rights, and living standard
