What is Honey about?

This study compared the antimicrobial effects of five types of honey (Manuka honey with different UMF ratings, Sidr honey, and Nigella sativa honey) on methicillin-resistant and sensitive Staphylococcus aureus. Manuka honey with a UMF rating of +20 had bactericidal effects on both types of S. aureus, while Sidr and N. sativa honey only had bacteriostatic effects. The efficacy depended on honey type and concentration. Manuka honey demonstrated the strongest antimicrobial activity in this study.
